Natasha Johnston nimitettiin Ringette Kanadan toiminnanjohtajaksi

 

Ringette Kanadan uudeksi toiminnanjohtajaksi on nimitetty liikunnan- ja urheilun moniosaaja Natasha Johnston. Natasha siirtyy tehtävään True Sport -organisaatiosta. Hän aloitti työnsä 3.12.2012.

Natasha on työskennellyt viimeiset 15 vuotta urheilun parissa mm. Kanadan Jalkapalloliitossa ja pelannut ringetteä 27 vuotta. Hän asuu Greelyssa, Ontariossa ja hänellä on aviomies Greg ja kaksi poikaa.

Ringette Canada appoints Natasha Johnston as Executive Director

Ottawa, Ontario – December 5, 2012 – Ringette Canada today announced the appointment of Natasha Johnston (Greely, ON) as Executive Director. Natasha began her duties on December 3rd and will be responsible for the overall management and administration of the organization and its national office, which is located in Ottawa.

“Natasha has a solid background working in amateur sport and her experience has allowed her to develop a powerful and varied skill set that will be a tremendous asset to Ringette Canada,” said Jane Casson, president of Ringette Canada. “As a ringette player herself, Natasha also understands and has a passion for the sport. We are confident that she will be instrumental in assisting us with the continued development of the fastest team sport on ice.”

Natasha has worked in amateur sport for over 15 years and most recently held the position of Director of the True Sport Secretariat with the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport. In this role she led the implementation of the national strategy for ethics and sport. This strategy is a collaborative undertaking to enhance ethical conduct in all aspects, and at all levels, of sport throughout Canada, and consists of a variety of coordinated and complementary initiatives that are implemented by governments and key stakeholders. Given the intricacy of this role, Natasha consistently demonstrated her aptitude in thinking strategically and working collaboratively. Prior to her role as Director of the True Sport Secretariat, Natasha has held a number of roles during her 12.5 years with the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport, including Athlete Services/Project Coordinator in the Doping Control Program to Senior Manager of Membership for True Sport. Natasha has become an advocate for amateur sport and has gained extensive experience in a number of issues relating to ethics in sport. Prior to joining the CCES, Natasha worked for three years with Football Canada. She has a Bachelor of Commerce in Sports Administration from Laurentian University and has been playing ringette for 27 years.

“Ringette is embarking on its 50th year and it is also enjoying its highest registration numbers to date. I am very pleased to be joining Ringette Canada at a time of such growth and celebration of sport,” said Natasha Johnston, executive director of Ringette Canada. “The organization is certainly poised for continued growth and I look forward to bringing my enthusiasm and extensive sport background to the table and be a part of the next phase of the sport’s development.”
